Job Description
Position Summary: The Director will join the Risk Management team within Private Equity, reporting to the Vice President and dotted line to the SVP. The role involves partnering with portfolio companies and internal teams to drive performance, generate value, and manage risk. Responsibilities include developing and overseeing enterprise risk management and ESG programs across our global portfolio, providing a foundation for career growth within the Risk & ESG team and broader Brookfield organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys a fast-paced environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, high intellectual curiosity, and strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Support development, implementation, and maintenance of ESG, risk, and other risk management programs.
- Prepare risk presentations covering anti-bribery, cybersecurity, health & safety, ESG, climate, and catastrophic risks for senior management and Board.
- Oversee key risk management programs, including anti-bribery, ESG, and internal controls.
- Assist with internal control assessments at portfolio companies.
- Review risk registers during business planning.
- Support onboarding of new acquisitions into risk programs.
- Support portfolio governance processes, monitoring compliance and governance issues.
- Conduct strategic analysis and special projects as needed.
Sustainability Responsibilities
- Manage ESG KPIs, analyze and monitor sustainability metrics.
- Track CSRD reporting requirements and disclosures.
- Prepare ESG reports for investors and regulators.
- Communicate with portfolio and fund finance teams to support reporting and ESG initiatives.
- Research ESG frameworks, regulations, and best practices.
- Monitor greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related risks.
- Assess health & safety incidents regularly.
Minimum Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience in controls, audit, risk, or ESG frameworks.
- Experience with CSRD is advantageous.
- ACA or ACCA preferred; audit or industry experience with high performance track record.
- Experience with internal control over financial reporting preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and support skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including financial modeling and presentation preparation.
