Working on the missions of both a finance manager and a finance administrator, we are looking for an AccountantNL who will support all general accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close duties for our entity based in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

The Accountant NL will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with Dutch regulations, and contribute to the financial health of the business. They will supervise day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting, and drive process improvements.

Directly reporting to the Director of Finance based in Lille, the Accountant NL will work closely with all members of the finance team in EMEA and worldwide. This position is hybrid, with 3 days a week working from our office in London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with external accountants for financial monitoring.
• Ensure accurate VAT returns processing (including ICP and OSS).
• Prepare annual financial reports and oversee staff involved in accounting tasks.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Participate in annual audits, providing financial data and variance analysis.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processing, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Review and process expense reports.
• Reconcile and manage intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee invoicing processes and manage cash applications.
• Handle customer inquiries related to accounts receivable invoices.

General Ledger Accounting

• Record and reconcile all compensation-related entries.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and associated schedules.
• Record other journal entries as needed.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree (MA/MSc) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of corporate finance or accounting experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities in a Dutch company.

Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:

• Fluency in Dutch with strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP.
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, financial analysis, and forecasting.
• Ability to oversee contract compliance, vendor agreements, and regulatory filings.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Snelstart), Excel, and financial modeling tools.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a mindset for process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and international teams.
