SDUK's brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products. This is a position we have brought into the structure to champion continuous improvement and lean manufacturing by creating a sustainable manufacturing improvement approach that can be adopted across site. A site that is no stranger to change, the focus will be on short to medium term operational improvements within a defined structure, supporting operational development in driving improvements across all KPIs.
As the continuous improvement lead, you'll be driving best practice by establishing processes and structures for the MPS, supporting the MPS implementation, and bringing stakeholders of all levels along for the journey. You'll develop the standards to which the site will work and facilitate its implementation, taking best practice and applying it pragmatically within the SDUK site. You'll be driving performance improvements across the site, achieving tangible benefits through OEE, quality, and waste reduction.
YOU'LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY:
- Implementing a robust performance measurement system delivering bottom line cost reduction
- Setting up and maintaining systems for monitoring progress of continuous improvement projects
- Creating a framework that the sites can use to drive operational improvements
- Creating and supporting a framework for robust NPD and EPD
- Ensuring customer benefit from cost reduction, service improvement and quality reliability
- Identifying opportunities requiring capital investment and working with teams to create business cases
YOU'RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE:
- Experienced at a management or supervisory level within a production/manufacturing environment, with demonstrable experience leading operational improvement projects
- A lean expert with formal qualifications/experience in relevant areas to CI (black belt/6 sigma)
- Experienced implementing lean improvement techniques and team development across all production areas
- A leader with experience influencing skills and behaviours to ensure
- A proven technical expert with the ability to train, coach and mentor at all levels of the organization in lean manufacturing techniques
- A strong communicator with excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Able to analyse and interpret complex data including financial information, process, and product information
- Flexible working with other sites to discuss and share best practice
