We are looking for an experienced and visionary Director, DevOps to lead our DevOps chapter. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of DevOps best practices, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our systems, and fostering collaboration between development, operations, and other key stakeholders. This is a leadership position that combines strategic thinking with technical expertise to deliver efficient, automated, and high-performing software delivery pipelines.
What You Will Do
- Define and execute the organization's DevOps strategy, aligning with business goals and technology roadmaps.
- Champion a DevOps culture across teams, fostering collaboration between development, operations, QA, and security teams.
- Identify and implement innovative tools, practices, and technologies to enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and system reliability.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing DevOps team, including engineers and specialists.
- Set clear goals, manage performance, and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Oversee the allocation of resources to ensure delivery and operational goals are met efficiently.
- Architect, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and repeatable software delivery processes.
- Drive automation initiatives across the development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Ensure systems and services are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability from the ground up.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or software engineering roles, with at least 5+ years in leadership positions.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
- Deep understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Solid understanding of security best practices, compliance standards, and DevSecOps.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
