The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a skilled System Engineer to join their innovative engineering team. You will be responsible for systems engineering and analysis across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to end-of-life. Working collaboratively with product line, mechanical, and software teams, you will ensure that technical requirements are met and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient and commercially aware engineer with experience in electro-optics or electro-mechanics, ideally within a defence or homeland security environment.
Your Role
- Analyse, capture and generate specifications for products and systems
- Provide technical support to sales and business development teams
- Prepare commercially astute technical proposals, reports, and documentation
- Identify risks in new product introduction and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Stay updated with the latest systems engineering technologies and best practices
- Undertake customer and supplier visits as required
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Physics, or Electronics (higher qualification preferred)
- Experience in systems engineering, electro-optics, or electro-mechanics
- Strong skills in system analysis using software tools such as MATLAB, Octave, C#, or Python
- Knowledge of control theory, servo systems, and GIS is advantageous
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of defence-related environmental and EMC standards (Mil-Stds, DEF-STANs)
- Ability to perform FMEA analysis
