We are working with a leading multi-national engineering business with a strong presence delivering across the high value technical engineer sectors who are looking for an electrical lead to work on a brand new data centre in Derry, Northern Ireland. Reporting to a campus lead, you will join from pre-construction phase, taking control of the sizeable electrical packages, leading a large team through the scheme to PC. The project is split into various phases with capacity for circa 100MW delivered across a 5-7 year programme.
Electrical Lead Duties:
- Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.
- Direct management of the project team, including alignment of all discipline leads to the benefit of project goals.
- Play a lead role in the management of Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager.
- Assist and lead in the management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety management.
- Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).
- Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.
- To manage and drive a large electrical team to meet all project requirements and deadlines.
- Ensuring all Subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
- Assist in projected labour projections from the field supervisors.
- Assist with the commercial team to ensure all variations are being captured and costs issued to the client.
Essential Criteria:
- Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process.
- Ability to control and manage people and programs.
- An Engineering Degree would be of advantage.
- Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects.
- Mission critical experience.
- Pipefitting or plumbing trade backgrounds also considered.
- Commercially astute.
- Strong on design.
- Competent working to aggressive programmes.
