HSE Manager (Development Opportunity – Step Up Role) Location: Scunthorpe, UK (office-based with some travel required) Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent, Full-time About the Role Our client is seeking a motivated and ambitious HSE professional to join their team in a key role focused on health, safety, and environmental leadership across their UK operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career and take the next step towards a senior HSE leadership position. The role would suit an experienced HSE Advisor or Coordinator ready to progress into a management role, or a developing HSE Manager eager to grow within a supportive business. The company operates within a high-risk, industrial environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities * Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE policies and management systems across the business * Conduct risk assessments and recommend practical control measures * Lead or support internal audits and assist with external inspections * Contribute to incident investigations and root cause analysis * Provide training, coaching, and guidance to employees on HSE matters * Monitor compliance with UK HSE legislation and company standards * Liaise with clients and subcontractors regarding HSE requirements and expectations * Participate in pre-contract planning, including preparation of HSE documentation for tenders and project planning * Support operational teams with training and safety management when required Key Requirements * NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement) * Experience delivering HSE training or toolbox talks * Good understanding of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirements * Confidence to communicate effectively at all levels and build positive working relationships * ISO audit participation and incident investigation experience preferred * Industrial services or high-risk environments experience is desirable * Must be located within commuting distance of Scunthorpe and willing to travel within the UK as required.
