Working within a vibrant college for people with a wide range of disabilities and associated learning difficulties. This role will provide a strong quality assurance focus in education, to support the Assistant Principal: Further Education to outstanding educational provision.
Supporting education delivery to maintain outstanding results:
- Lead contact with all examination and awarding bodies across the provision.
- Front standardisation and quality assurance activities.
- Line manage the Examination & Quality Assistant to ensure compliance for external awarding bodies.
- Production of high-quality reports for internal and external bodies.
- Lead on Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) compliance.
- Lead on Quality assurance activities to support the FE Department across all sites and provision.
Expected Outcomes:
- Quality of Education is Outstanding.
- Certified status and A* compliance from all awarding bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on exams and quality assurance for education with named external bodies.
- Responsibility for maintaining certification status with all awarding bodies.
- Responsibility for ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations.
- Responsibility for monitoring and compliance of Quality assurance activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Functional Skills in maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent.
- TAQA 4.

- Proven leadership and management skills to a high standard.
- Extensive experience of qualifications and exam approval processes and systems across a range of Awarding Bodies.
- Proven ability to challenge colleagues on performance.
- Excellent organisational skills.

- Delivering training of a high standard that positively impacts on staff.

- Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) inspection regulations and compliance for exams.
- Understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and how this informs reasonable adjustments for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and processes across a range of Awarding Bodies and levels including pre-entry to Level 3.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SEND.
- Strength of character to challenge under performance or negative attitudes.
