The Team & Focus of the Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Sales Manager to join our Ashby-based team. The role will be looking at sales of two niche and unique product ranges, which are produced for the protection of buried assets, within the utilities and engineering industry.
In this role you will be pivotal in developing, and subsequently delivering, a sales and marketing strategy. This will predominantly include securing new business and sales through identification of new business opportunities, developing an industry network to help the generation of leads, and staying up to date with relevant market insight.
You will have a proven track record in sales, with the ability to self-motivate and use innovative methods to work with different stakeholders. You will ideally have experience in selling physical products, rather than a service, and ideally have worked in the Utilities, Infrastructure, or Engineering Consultancy industry. This is a full-time, home-based, permanent role, with nationwide travel as a necessity.
In return, beyond your base salary you will be included in:
- A commission-based bonus scheme
- Company Car/Car Allowance
- A generous holiday scheme which commences at 25 days with a sliding scale up to 30 days plus an additional day for your birthday, and additional days to cover the festive period!
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
- An online money saving portal
- Death In Service cover, alongside access to an Employee Assistance Programme which includes health appointments for you and your family
- Volunteering Leave equating to 2 days per year (pro rata if you’re part-time)
Duties will include:
- Developing & delivering a Sales & Marketing Strategy
- Using different methods to identify sales opportunities, such as database combing, researching the industry, networking and cold calling.
- Clearly communicating the product ranges offered to develop relationships and awareness of the product.
- Arranging calls and meetings with prospective clients.
- Staying up to date with any relevant market insight.
- Both supporting and leading on marketing campaigns to promote the products.
- Telephone and face to face sales, with a consultative approach.
- Attending shows and relevant exhibitions across the UK.
The successful candidate will have:
- A proven track record and results within Sales.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience within either Utilities, Infrastructure or Engineering industries.
- Experience of selling physical products.
- A creative and results driven approach.
- Excellent client relationship skills.
- Clear and professional communicator – Both written and verbal.
- A full driving license.
