Power the Financial Engine Behind $1.5 Billion in Life-Changing Credit. Imagine leveraging your product leadership to build the infrastructure that has already unlocked progress for millions across Africa. As M-KOPA's Head of Product for our Lending Platform, you'll drive the product strategy and execution behind systems that have originated over 6 million loans across five African markets.
This role involves evolving lending systems, analytics, and data science models to provide critical insights into credit performance and unit economics. Your work will enable M-KOPA to attract significant debt capital, ultimately creating transformative financial products for customers traditionally excluded from mainstream banking.
You will collaborate with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Credit, and Finance teams, translating complex financial requirements into elegant platform solutions. Leading product managers passionate about using technology to solve financial inclusion challenges, you'll ensure our loan management, billing, and accounting systems meet international standards and local regulations.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of product management experience with platform or infrastructure products, demonstrating analytical excellence
- At least 2 years managing multiple product managers across agile teams, driving strategy and execution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across finance, credit, and treasury functions
- Your experience with financial services products or platform solutions serving B2B clients will find purpose here, enabling small business growth, family access to smartphones, or students' educational resources.
This hybrid role offers remote work flexibility with regular connections to M-KOPA's markets in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, or Uganda. You will experience your work's impact through field visits and cross-team collaboration.
