Dewey Group are recruiting on behalf of a specialist contractor operating in the ground engineering and infrastructure sector who are currently seeking a Junior Estimator to support their growing commercial team. This is a hybrid role, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects ranging from standalone schemes to long-term, phased developments. The successful candidate will be involved in preparing detailed, commercially sound tenders and engaging directly with clients to develop technical proposals that meet their project needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and bills of quantities to determine project scope and provide accurate pricing for a range of piling and ground support systems. You will analyse ground investigation data to assess potential risks and help define appropriate methodologies in collaboration with in-house engineers and the delivery team. Site visits may be required to review conditions and understand any complexities or risks that may not be apparent from tender documentation.

You will work closely with clients throughout the bidding process, developing strong relationships and ensuring proposals are aligned with both client expectations and internal commercial strategies. You’ll also be involved in reviewing contract requirements, contributing to written tender submissions, and updating internal CRM systems to track opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CAD software and MS Project (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident engaging with clients and building long-term relationships
  • Organised and self-motivated, capable of working independently and within a team
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings as required
  • Full UK driving licence
