We are in an exciting phase of growth and looking for a Packaging Buyer who brings industry knowledge, commercial awareness, and a passion for sourcing to join our Leicester-based team. What You’ll Be Doing
As our Packaging Buyer, you will take ownership of specific product categories and play a critical role in driving procurement strategy. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure efficient, cost-effective supply chains and timely product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Product & Supplier Management: Own your product categories, manage the full purchasing process from order placement to delivery, including international freight coordination.
- Sourcing & Negotiation: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Negotiate competitive pricing and terms while ensuring quality and reliability.
- Market & Trend Analysis: Monitor product performance, identify market trends, and source innovative packaging solutions to support growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments to align purchasing plans with business objectives and launch schedules.
- Cost & Profitability Management: Track commodity prices and market movements to drive savings and protect margins.
- Team Guidance: Support and direct administrative team members, ensuring purchasing operations run smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a buying/purchasing role - packaging industry experience is essential.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong data analysis and numeracy skills.
- IT Proficiency: Confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
