Our team is growing, and we’re now seeking a talented Technical Designer / CAD Technician to support our expanding project portfolio. The Role This is a fantastic opportunity for a design professional from a construction background to join a dynamic and collaborative team. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and design documentation for a wide variety of bespoke canopy and external structure projects. Key Responsibilities * Create accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using AutoCAD (or equivalent). * Develop detailed fabrication and installation drawings for manufacturing and site teams. * Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to turn client requirements into buildable solutions. * Assist in the development of standard details and design templates. * Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and building regulations. * Attend project meetings where required to understand and interpret site-specific challenges. Ideal Candidate Profile We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in the following sectors: * Structural framing (timber, steel, or aluminium) * Curtain walling * Roofing and cladding While experience in canopies or external structures is a bonus, it is not essential. We welcome applicants from adjacent industries who can transfer their skills effectively. Required Skills & Experience * Previous experience as a CAD Technician, Draughtsperson, or Architectural Technician in a construction-related field. * Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD essential; 3D capability desirable). * Good understanding of construction detailing and materials. * Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
