We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our dynamic team in the fast-growing Electric Vehicle (EV) sector who will be reporting to the Supply Chain manager or Materials Manager. The Material Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials through our production process. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating material requirements to meet production goals while maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting just-in-time delivery, and driving supply chain efficiency in alignment with sustainability and innovation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage material requirement plans (MRPs) based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory targets.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory while avoiding shortages.
  • Analyse and mitigate supply chain risks by identifying potential shortages or delays and taking corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system data including lead times, order quantities, and inventory levels.
  • Track supplier performance and coordinate with procurement to resolve material supply issues.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) planning and coordinate phase-in/phase-out of materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning processes and supply chain resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability standards in sourcing and material usage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certification.
  • Experience with supply chain analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of sustainable sourcing and circular supply chain practices in the EV industry.
