The Company:
Our precision engineering client specialises in high-performance metering pumps, hydraulic flow dividers, and dosing systems used in some of the world's most demanding industries – from aerospace and medical to automotive and industrial coatings. With continued investment in innovation and manufacturing capability, they are committed to delivering ultra-precise components for a global customer base.
Due to continued growth and an increase in design workload, they are looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of a CAD Draughtsperson to support their Mechanical Design Engineers and help streamline operations from concept to production.
The Role:
As a CAD Draughtsperson, you’ll play a critical support role in the design office, transforming technical concepts into production-ready models and drawings. Working closely with experienced Mechanical Design Engineers, you’ll be responsible for:
- Producing full 3D CAD models based on predefined technical specifications
- Creating detailed 2D manufacturing drawings for the shop floor
- Supporting design reviews and collaborating to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions
- Working on components including gears, bearings, pumps, pipework, and fluid systems
- Taking ownership of cradle-to-grave design packs from concept to fabrication
CAD work will be a mixture of 2D and 3D using Creo 11 (training available if needed).
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a confident CAD technician or engineer with a strong background in metal component design. You’ll be working independently, so self-sufficiency and technical competence are key.
Experience & Attributes Desired:
- Strong 3D and 2D modelling experience
- Proficiency in CAD software – ideally Creo, but SolidWorks or Inventor also acceptable
- Experience working with machined metal components (e.g. jigs, fixtures, block metal)
- Good understanding of design for manufacture
- Happy in a focused, quiet office environment
- Looking for long-term stability and job satisfaction
The Benefits:
- Competitive salary up to £35k DOE
- Early finish on Fridays (12pm)
- Strong job security and a long-term position
- Full CAD package training if required
- Free on-site parking
