We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Health Care Assistants on behalf of a respected care provider. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality care and looking for flexible or stable shift patterns across day and night shifts.
Essential Qualifications & Training:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
- Willingness to participate in ongoing vocational training and development
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care & Support:
- Provide hands-on care and support to residents, assisting with all aspects of daily living while preserving dignity and respect
- Act as a key worker, supporting residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing
- Monitor individuals with mobility issues, learning difficulties, confusion, or behavioural concerns
- Support continence management and assist with end-of-life care when needed
- Help residents during mealtimes, considering dietary needs and swallowing difficulties
- Encourage and support participation in activities and social events
- Maintain clear, accurate records and contribute to care plans in line with policy and best practice
Team Support & Supervision:
- Be a positive role model for junior staff and assist in the training and supervision of new team members
- Organise and lead care teams during shifts, ensuring quality care delivery
Medication & Clinical Support (where qualified):
- Administer and record medications safely following training and guidelines
- Conduct assessments and risk evaluations on new admissions
Communication:
- Deliver effective handovers and participate in resident or staff meetings
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and managers regarding resident wellbeing
Environment & General Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in residents’ rooms and communal areas
- Clean and care for equipment and personal belongings
- Escort residents to appointments or on outings
- Follow infection control, health & safety, and confidentiality policies
