My client is currently recruiting for the role of HGV Fitter to carry out routine trailer maintenance, HGV Maintenance, servicing, MOT preparation and repairs based near Liverpool. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic company who look after staff and offer growth. They have a large fleet and their main industry of work is transport and haulage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out MOT inspection and repairs
  • Dismantling and repairing or replacing faulty components
  • Reassembling and testing components to ensure they’re working safely
  • Checking new equipment before it’s used on site
  • Body work and damage repairs
  • Ensuring workload is prioritised and deadlines met
  • Comply with Health and Safety policy at all times and adopt safe methods of working
  • Keep workshop clear and tidy

Essential Criteria:

  • Chassis and MOT preparation experience
  • Previous experience of working HGV, basic welding, hydraulic and auto electrical skills
  • Three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work safely as part of a team
  • Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Have a full clean driving license
