For a well-established and growing distributor of industrial components near Halifax, we are recruiting a site based General Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a small-knit team and reporting into the Group Managing Director, the General Manager will provide leadership to the branch team, having overall responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the branch in West Yorkshire.
  • Capitalising on current investment in new systems and marketing material, the General Manager will put structures in place to ensure smooth reporting and optimum performance of the business operations and sales.
  • Build and develop solid relationships with customers and suppliers alike, understanding their needs and always delivering the best experience possible.
  • A natural leader, they will thrive on leading, coaching and developing the team.

Candidate profile:

  • An experienced Branch Manager, General Manager or Business Manager with proven experience driving a business through the next stages of growth.
  • You will have experience managing sales and operations of a trade counter or branch, in industrial components such as valves, fittings, tubes, pipes, or with some welding and fabrication knowledge.
  • A highly enthusiastic and energetic leader, you will have demonstrable experience working closely with the senior team of an agile SME environment.
  • Whilst being highly people centred, you thrive on improving processes to ensure the efficient and smooth working of a well-oiled operation.
