To assemble, wire, solder, and mechanically build electro-mechanical components and products in line with production specifications and quality standards. This hands-on role combines mechanical assembly and fine electrical work, including soldering, wiring, and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical subassemblies and final units to specification.
  • Perform electrical tasks such as soldering, wiring, crimping, and cable routing.
  • Conduct mechanical operations including fitting, fastening, and minor fabrication.
  • Inspect and test completed assemblies to verify conformance using measuring and testing equipment.
  • Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

Key Duties

  • Solder wires, components, and PCBs (both leaded and lead-free) to required standards.
  • Assemble mechanical components such as housings, brackets, panels, and fasteners using hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and build instructions.
  • Operate test equipment for continuity checks, insulation resistance, and functional testing.
  • Handle and manage electrostatic-sensitive devices (ESD awareness required).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on assembly defects and escalate where necessary.
  • Ensure self-inspection is carried out to maintain high-quality output.
  • Keep the work area organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment is essential.
  • Strong hand-soldering skills; IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 certification is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with crimping, wire preparation, cable assembly, and mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience using a range of hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate self-inspection and quality control.
