This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of commissioning activities for industrial & commercial battery & hybrid systems and Electric Forecourts, including electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, throughout the UK. Key Responsibilities Preparation of project documentation including pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures Coordinate and manage contractor and subcontractor activities associated with pre-commissioning and during commissioning Work closely with the project, engineering and construction teams Assist in Operational Readiness Plan and Project Execution Plan development Coordinate supplier activities for commissioning Lead on health, safety and environmental (HSE) issues on site and maintain overall responsibility for ensuring that the team complies with the HSE Plan Ensure hazard/risk analysis is performed before start of activities Coordinate start-up activities with project management, engineering, construction and contractors Ensure the commissioning plan is in compliance with the appropriate external regulatory bodies Management of commissioning and testing teams Prepare commissioning Progress Reports and Coordination of all Testing and Commissioning Documentation Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities with Contractors and clients Oversee the progress on site, reporting progress on all commissioning activities both internally and externally Responsible for supervising SAT’s, AP’s, reviewing and controlling HV switching schedules and ensuring safe coordination of activities. Sign-off on completion of commissioned activities as per manufacturers processes for successful handover to the O&M team Responsible for the commissioning of HV components to include protective devices, relays, CTs, VTs, switchgear, RMU’s, Transformers, Substation and ancillary equipment Responsible for the successful G99 commissioning activities, ensuring through accurate coordination the successful connection of the project in line with the targeted dates Management of all commissioning related snagging and ensuring that all snags are closed out in a timely manner Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001). Essential Skills and Experience Required Must have a proven track record delivering large scale projects, most recently in a Commissioning Manager capacity SAP High Voltage – Commercial and Industrial Sectors (APHV4) or equivalent qualification 4+ years of experience as a SAP, including switchgear installations Proven track record of 3+ years in Supervising Engineers of operational solar or other industry projects Ability to plan, author, and execute a commissioning process, including switch sequencing Proven experience of managing of all commissioning responsibilities on site, including setup, management of and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project Demonstrated understanding of electrical safety and competency to prepare electrical safety rules Experience in Battery Storage Projects is highly appreciated and SAP Authorization up to 132kV is desirable Substation commissioning experience and understanding of overhead power line systems is highly desirable Working knowledge of SMSTS, IOSH or other equivalent H&S certificate (NEBOSH) is desirable Experienced in coordination of third-party testing services for MV systems, and equipment vendor commissioning processes Able to manage various sub-contractors commissioning and testing process and procedures Able to compile all Testing and Commissioning Documentation including verifying and signing off on all results A proven track record in successfully delivering multi-disciplinary utility scale projects with specific experience in managing DNO activities Proficient user of project management tools or similar Must have a solid understanding of major electrical equipment such as switchgear, relays, CTs, VTs, switchgear, RMU’s, Transformers, Substation and ancillary equipment Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems within utility PV projects (the Commissioning Lead will be expected to administer and train individuals to perform PV string testing) Knowledgeable of single axis tracking systems, PV inverters, DC collection systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management skills Self-motivated with demonstrated problem-solving skills Self-driven, focused, results and quality oriented Full UK Driving Licence *Full Job-description and person specification available on request Life at GRIDSERVE We value every one of our awesome GRIDSERVERs and the contribution they make towards delivering our mission.
