CARE ASSISTANT / SUPPORT WORKER
Salary: GBP13 per hour

Overview: Our residents are at the heart of everything we do at the Meath Epilepsy Charity. With person-centred planning, we ensure that everyone remains focused on achieving their goals and maintaining their independence as much as possible.
Job Details: This role is for 30 to 40 hours per week, with shifts including every other weekend.
Job Purpose: To assist in the personal, rehabilitative, and social care of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care for all aspects of the individual resident\’s assessed needs in line with their care plan.
- Follow all Policies and Procedures.
- Assist residents with personal care as needed.
- Administer and store prescribed medication in accordance with legislation.
- Assist residents with mobility where appropriate.
- Help residents with feeding if needed.
- Oversee and assist in serving and preparing meals and drinks.
- Ensure residents receive a well-balanced diet.
- Communicate relevant information about residents to team members to update care plans, noting any changes in their physical, medical, or psychological condition.
- Report any accidents or incidents immediately to senior staff.
- Be aware of safeguarding policies and procedures in case of abuse allegations.
- Follow procedures for medication handling, seeking senior assistance for administering prescribed drugs.
- Attend 1:1 supervision meetings with your line manager every six weeks.
- Follow reasonable instructions from management.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as required.
- Implement Meath policies and procedures.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with the public, trustees, professional bodies, and other stakeholders, both written and verbal. Proficient in Word, Excel, and other operating systems.
Essential: Responsibility, ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility, reliability, punctuality, willingness to undertake relevant training, and maintain confidentiality.
Desirable: Awareness of CQC requirements, holding or willingness to obtain a relevant Health and Social Care qualification.
