Due to significant growth and expansion, we have a vacancy for an Engineering Training Consultant to join our fantastic Training team. If you’re experienced in the Engineering arena and are already a Trainer or aspire to be one, we’d love to hear from you!
This role requires you to be on site approx. 3 days per week at Capenhurst (CH1 6ES) as well as travelling to other locations.
About the role:
- Deliver practical and classroom-based training in power engineering craft skills
- Support apprenticeship, refresher and upskilling program delivery
- Develop and maintain training materials and practical aids
- Provide group instruction and one-to-one coaching to learners
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe and professional training environment
- Stay current with industry practices and standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery
What we’ll need from you:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices relevant to the electricity distribution industry
- Familiarity with Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations
- Knowledge of safe working practices and industry-standard procedures in craftsperson roles
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners of varying skill levels
- Proven ability to mentor, coach and support the development of others, both in one-to-one and group settings
- Capable of delivering structured, hands-on training and adapting teaching style to meet different learning needs
- Organised and methodical, able to track learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Demonstrates a genuine desire to help new entrants succeed and grow in the power engineering field
- Awareness of instructional techniques, learning styles and basic curriculum development along with an understanding of apprenticeship standards, technical training programmes or competency-based development would be a distinct advantage
