OneCare has a fantastic opportunity for a credible, experienced, and professional children's care home manager. We are an established, ambitious and growing company expanding into children's care home services in London. The applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home and accountable for the delivery of a high quality service, incorporating care, welfare, safety and security for all children and young people in the home.

The role includes supporting, leading, and managing a team who will provide protection, physical, psychological, emotional & social development to the residents by adhering to the highest standards of social work practice in compliance with Children Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 and the policies of local authorities.

Person Specification
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ proven experience working as a Registered Manager in a Children's Home.
  • Experience (minimum 2 - 5 years) of working with vulnerable children in a residential environment.
  • Experience of managing staff and completing supervision and appraisal processes.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience of the Children Act, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standard 2015, Care Standards Act 2000, Warner Report, SCCIF and Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations including the Quality Standards 2015.
  • Knowledge and practice of national developments in services for SEND children and young people.
  • Knowledge and ability to work constructively with behaviours that may challenge under a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) ethos.
  • NVQ or Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Children’s Services or equivalent.
  • NVQ or diploma Level 3 in Residential Children’s Services or equivalent.
  • Effective communication and dealing with Local authorities, commissioners’ external agencies, and potential customers.
  • Experience in managing efficient teams with budget responsibility in the care industry.
  • Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for business purpose.

Salary per annum: £55,000 - £62,000 Full time 40 hours per week.
