About the Role:

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of highways projects, with a particular focus on the installation of cycleways and footpaths. You’ll be responsible for overseeing on-site operations, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and within the agreed timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site operations
  • Set out and survey works in accordance with design drawings
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are met
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Maintain accurate records, site diaries, and quality control documentation
  • Support project managers in planning and progress tracking

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working on highways projects
  • Proven track record in delivering successful infrastructure schemes
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and highway construction techniques
  • Competent in the use of setting-out and surveying equipment
  • Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
  • CSCS card (essential); SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
