Groundworker / Civils Operative – St Austell, Cornwall + Surrounding areas (operational)

Water Contract – Civils

This is a great opportunity to start a temp-to-perm operational role based around Cornwall. You will work in a gang of 2 Groundworkers on a civils project installing water meters. The working week will be 40-50 hours, Monday to Friday.

Various packages are available. Relevant experience in utilities contracts, groundworks, or water contracts is required.

You will be issued an iPad to accept daily jobs.

Pay packages:

• Package 1 – GBP15ph PAYE + Van, fuel card, tools
• Package 2 – GBP17.40ph Umbrella + Van, fuel card, tools
• Package 3 – GBP20ph CIS – No van or fuel card provided

Day-to-day duties of a Groundworker:

• Working in a gang of 2 Civils Operatives
• Traveling between jobs within Cornwall
• Operating cat and genie
• Hand digging
• Removing and installing water meters
• Cold lay tarmac
• Moving materials
• Maintaining a safe working environment

Requirements for Groundworker role:

• Previous experience in a related role (preferably water treatment)
• EUSR card (SHEA water preferred but not essential)
• Water Hygiene certification
• Professional demeanor at all times
• Good work ethic
• Street works ticket (Essential)
• Driving license (Essential)
• Good timekeeping

Training and tickets will be provided free of charge over 4 days at induction, including:

• EUSR
• Abbrasive wheels
• Water Hygiene
• Cat & Genie operation
• Manual Handling
