Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials across a range of Animal Care courses.
- Develop and update curriculum materials to ensure they are current and relevant.
- Assess and evaluate students’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the Animal Care program, including participation in team meetings and curriculum development activities.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, helping to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry developments and integrate this knowledge into teaching practices.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance personal and professional skills.
- Engage with industry professionals and organisations to enhance the learning experience and employability of students.
You: We are looking for candidates who are not only experts in their field but also enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring. The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree in Animal Care or a closely related field (applicants with a Level 3 qualification and relevant prior experience will also be considered).
- Prior experience of teaching animal care, animal science, and/or animal husbandry within a post-16 environment.
- A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
