Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit a driven and experienced CNC Production Engineer to join a leading manufacturer near Rochdale. This provides an opportunity to join an extremely stable and expanding British manufacturer who are a household name in their industry. This role will involve working within the machine shop and also supporting the Manufacturing Engineering function of the business by creating new CNC Programs using Gibbscam and Esprit.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in CNC Machining and Programming within a precision manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of CAM Software and SolidWorks is a must.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 0800 – 1630 / Friday 0745 – 1515
Role Description:
- Execution of manufacturing engineering tasks to deadlines
- Creation of process specifications
- Support the department with Routings, BOMs, Production Orders, Costings
- Provide support and expertise to optimise and improve process capability and yield
- Creating BOMs and routings
- Preparation of costings for intercompany production
- Lean principles, Waste reduction, efficiency improvements, process flow, etc.
- Provide support to production with programmes, tooling, fixtures, routings etc.
We need someone who will openly engage with a broad range of people from welders, machinists and fitters, as well as supervision and management.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Time served in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrable experience in CNC Programming/ Production Engineering
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
- Practical knowledge of milling, turning and grinding processes
- Knowledge of Hard surface welding is advantageous
- Selection and design of tooling, jigs and fixtures for component manufacturing
- Excellent IT Skills - MS Office (Excel/Outlook etc)
