We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join a project in Taunton. The role involves all aspects of groundwork, including drainage, excavation, concreting, kerbing, paving, and site preparation. You will play a vital role in the early stages of construction projects, helping to lay the foundation for successful builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all types of groundworks including excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling.
- Install drainage systems including pipes, manholes, soakaways, and gullies.
- Lay foundations, concrete slabs, footings, and substructure works.
- Prepare and level ground for construction using hand tools and machinery.
- Lay kerbs, paving slabs, block paving, and tarmac.
- Operate small plant machinery (e.g., mini diggers, dumpers) safely and efficiently.
- Read and work from site drawings and construction plans.
- Work closely with site managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete tasks to specification.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Groundworker across all areas including drainage and concreting.
- Competency in reading technical drawings and levels.
- Skilled in the use of tools and small plant machinery.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – Required.
- Awareness of health and safety practices on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
