We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and assembly of mould tools used mainly in the injection mould tool sector. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD software, ideally Visi by Hexagon but this isn't essential, as well as hands-on experience with various CNC and manual machining techniques. The Tool Maker will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and precision of our production operations.

Duties

  • Manufacture tooling according to specifications.
  • Assemble and test tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Program and set CNC milling, lathe and EDM machines to process all components within a mould.
  • Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinding equipment.
  • Utilise hand tools for fine adjustments and finishing touches on tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop tooling solutions for new products.
  • Maintain and repair existing tools to extend their lifespan and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop.
  • Document all processes and modifications made during tool fabrication.

Skills

  • Proficient in CAD software, ideally Visi but training can be given if you're used to another software.
  • Strong ability to manufacture moulds using various machining techniques.
  • Experience in tooling design, particularly for plastics injection moulding applications would be an advantage.
  • Competence in assembling complex mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with milling, grinding, and other machining processes.
  • Skilled in using hand tools for detailed work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
