You will sit within the LAB (London, Amsterdam, Brussels) Internal Communications and Engagement team supporting strategy, planning and execution of LAB’s internal communications, employee events and engagement programme to bring our business, client and people strategy to life. Together with the team, you will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that strengthen employee engagement, promote company values, and enhance overall organizational culture.
As a proven quick thinker and exemplary communicator and writer, you will cut through complexity to create informative and impactful content and experiences. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders to help bring their priorities and vision to life through creativity and impactful internal communications and employee engagement. You will work as part of our Marketing & Communications team and alongside our People and Operations teams, office leadership and practices areas in a truly multi-faceted and fast-paced role.
- Help drive our day-to-day delivery of the LAB and local office internal comms and employee engagement agenda.
- Develop creative and compelling content across all internal comms channels, in a variety of formats (video, email, Slack), including strong drafts of written comms for senior leadership.
- Manage the delivery of major flagship internal events such as office updates, cohort sessions and Townhalls. You will feed into the agenda and content for these engagements and support project managing them alongside your manager.
- Effectively manage a network of senior internal leaders and stakeholders and work as part of the wider Marketing & Communications team.
- Support cross-office/LAB collaboration through consistent internal messaging and shared events to further integrate our three offices.
- Translate global internal comms priorities into local activations.
- Support on translating our LAB commercial strategy into internal communications and engagement plans for our internal functions and networks, local office agendas, People strategy, client impact, and support on major marketing campaigns such as Centre for Growth and GenAI.
- Apply your creative thinking to support on major ‘moments’ throughout the year that bring the whole business together (physically and virtually) in LAB and locally, championing key messages, people and offerings.
- Coordinate and drive employee recognition programs to celebrate achievements and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Create and curate an annual calendar of communications and engagement opportunities that effectively communicate key themes and messages, taking into consideration the key milestones and objectives of internal stakeholder groups.
- Help manage and actively review our internal comms channels to ensure message consistency, cut through and clarity, and improve channel efficacy and processes.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to internal communication and engagement, collect and analyse feedback from employees and use it to continuously improve internal communication strategies and initiatives.
- Benchmark our internal communication and engagement practices against industry standards and best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential. The coordinator must be able to craft clear, concise, and engaging messages for various communication channels from varying voices across the business and often act as a ghost writer for senior leadership.
- Adjusts communication to situation/audience.
- Juggle a large communications portfolio with multiple streams and stakeholder groups, have enviable organisational skills and the ability to ruthlessly prioritise and manage the expectations of senior leaders along the way.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially in content creation and proofreading.
- Experience in planning and executing large scale events either externally or internally.
- Understanding of employee engagement strategies, including the ability to plan and execute initiatives, workshops, surveys, and recognition programs.
- Creative thinking to develop innovative communication strategies and engagement initiatives that capture employees' attention and interest.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple events, comms and wider employee initiatives simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with communication tools, intranet platforms, email marketing software, and other digital tools used for internal communication.
- 4-5 years of communications experience preferable in a large and fast-paced global organization.
- Proven exemplary written and verbal communications skills, plus experience storytelling in other mediums such as video or in-person/hybrid events.
- High intellectual curiosity and a genuine desire to enhance perception of internal communications and the value it delivers to the business.
- Experience working as part of a Marketing & Communications function and/or supporting the HR/People business unit is highly desirable.
- English fluency, Dutch or French language skills is a bonus but not essential.
