To provide a professional, efficient and effective Stores Delivery Service. To work with the Stores Supervisor and Stores Assistants to deliver a comprehensive Stores Delivery Service.
Role and Responsibilities:
- To drive vehicles up to and including 3½ tonnes carrying capacity.
- To carry out relevant vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle meets with legislative road requirements.
- To transport materials between the depot, properties and other agreed locations around the Borough.
- To be responsible for ensuring all materials for delivery are secured on the vehicle using the appropriate straps, anchor points and containers.
- To load and unload materials, ensuring manual handling procedures are adhered to.
- To assist in ensuring that Health and Safety legislation and good practice is complied with.
- To assist in developing and administering an effective delivery service across Construction Services.
- To organise own workload, ensuring the most cost-effective delivery route is taken.
- To work in a warehouse environment picking materials, unloading deliveries (including heavy bulky items), ordering, storing, stock checking and distributing materials, plant and equipment.
- To liaise with Operations Staff to plan effectively for the provision of materials, plant and equipment.
- To maintain good housekeeping, ensuring all rubbish is cleared away and all items are stored correctly ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.

- This is a part time position
- 22.2 Hours a week
- 7.4 hours a day, 3 days a week
