We are pleased to recruit an Electrical Training Centre Manager / Team Leader to join and lead our delivery department here in Gatwick. This role will suit an individual who is currently working in a similar role or an experienced Electrical Installation Tutor who is looking to step up to this managerial role. This vacancy is located in Crawley (Gatwick) but we would like our candidate to be flexible to travel to London Central location when required. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing business in this exciting and busy role.

About the role:

As a Centre Manager / Team Leader you will:

  • Support all team members with the delivery of all qualifications.
  • Carry out standardisation of all the programme.
  • Be responsible for ensuring a good level engagement with staff and students.
  • Feedback to all training officers and Assessors on learner progress.
  • Enable all staff to complete their mandatory training.
  • Produce an action plan for poor performance and report to head of delivery.
  • Ensure H & S is covered in centre.
  • Support Student services when needed.
  • Ensure timely completion of IQA.
  • Support learners with learning needs and ensure this is effectively put in place.
  • Give advice and guidance to staff and learners.
  • Be the single point of contact on a daily basis.
  • Ensure staff and learners welfare, safeguarding and Prevent knowledge is to a high level.

As a Team Leader we would like you to be able to step in and cover absences to ensure that the operation is running smoothly.

About You:

What you'll need:

It is expected that the candidate will come from an electrical installation / maintenance / engineering background and hold relevant up to date qualifications along with experience within the field of electrical installation / maintenance. The following Qualifications and Skills are essential for the job role:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  • A sound knowledge of Apprenticeships
  • Solid Industry experience of electrical installation
  • Assessors A1/TAQA Level 3
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to develop accessible learning materials for their students
  • IT literate with a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ideally we would like you to also have - Internal Quality Assurance V1/TAQA L4.

We are looking for effective communicators and team players with good interpersonal skills. We would like you to be self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently. We are also looking for problem-solving attitude with a patient and controlled demeanour. We are keen to consider Experienced Tutors who are looking for the next step in their career but ideally you will have experience in a team leader or similar supervisory position as you will need your managerial and people skills to hit the ground running when you join us.

Full UK Driving License is essential. All successful applicants will be required to undertake appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure as well as providing proof of the right to work in the UK.
