Are you an experienced Tenancy or Housing Support Worker? Can you help and advise people living out in the community, within their own homes, on how to claim the correct benefits and help them to sustain their tenancies? What about supporting people with complex issues, such as mental health?
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 3 MONTH TEMPORARY CONTRACT (APPROX).
The basics:
- Salary £24,242 per annum
- Full time hours
- 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday
- 9am to 4.30pm Friday
- Based in the Swansea area
What you'll be doing:
- Leading on the assessment of needs for individuals referred to our services.
- Co-creating individual support plans (ISPs) with people we support.
- Reviewing progress and updating ISPs and risk assessments regularly.
- Collaborating with key agencies such as CMHTs, Local Authorities, and housing providers.
- Providing advice and guidance at Torfaen's drop-in service.
- Involving the people we support in shaping, evaluating, and developing the service.
- Supporting individuals through crises and long-term planning, including attending joint meetings and case reviews.
- Assisting people in accessing advice, information, and resettlement support.
- Keeping accurate, up-to-date records and using our IT systems effectively.
- Promoting and delivering services in line with our trauma-informed, relationship-based approach.
What We Need:
Essential
- Experience working in the housing support sector.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and person-centred support.
- A strong commitment to involving people with lived experience in service development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of adult safeguarding procedures.
- Self-awareness and a commitment to reflective practice and personal growth.
- Able to set up utilities, benefits, housing applications etc.
- Willing to work across the Swansea area.
Desirable
- Ability to communicate in Welsh.
- Experience providing floating/tenancy support in the community.
- Knowledge of the welfare benefits system.
