About Us:

We are a well-established, progressive school supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated communication and sensory needs. Our school follows a person-centred approach, blending the National Curriculum with autism-specific strategies like TEACCH, PECS, and SCERTS.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting pupils in class, helping them access learning through visual supports, structured routines, and sensory regulation.
  • Assisting with social communication and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Working closely with teachers, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists to deliver a tailored curriculum.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Supporting personal development, independence, and life skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism or SEND is desirable.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
  • Confidence using or learning alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton).
  • Willingness to undertake personal care if required.
  • Strong team working and adaptability.
