The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Our client designs, manufactures and sources a range of display equipment to meet specific retail requirements. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will provide health & safety support and advice to everyone across the business, particularly the construction and project delivery teams.
You will act as the 'Competent Person' and support the business in the effective delivery of both the pre-construction & construction phases of a project, while providing knowledge and support to the teams delivering these projects. You will also be responsible for all health and safety matters across the estate and must be able to understand, digest and communicate the necessary legal & regulatory requirements in a manner that everyone can understand and follow.
You will work a 37½ hour working week (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 with ½ hour unpaid lunch break). This role reports to the Compliance Manager, but will require the development of a close working relationship with the construction & projects teams and the H&S Coordinators.
Requirements:- Have previously worked in the construction industry, ideally retail construction
- Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
- Be familiar with the requirements of COAR 2012, and be able to competently assess sites for the presence of asbestos containing materials via the asbestos register, asbestos reports, R&D surveys and desktop reviews
- Capable of developing a Construction Phase Plan from the ground up and thereafter maintaining it as a live document
- Ability to interact with key stakeholders - internally and externally - to ensure projects are fully compliant with the client’s requirements, legislation and internal ISO commitments (For example, the client, principal designers, designers, contractors & subcontractors)
- Post completion, prepare a Health & Safety file for handover to the client (or upload to a construction management portal)
- Undertake site safety inspections/audits as required
- Complete/review risk assessments and method statements as required
- Sound understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
- Be familiar with Constructionline, Safe Contractor, CHAS etc and be able to contribute to their annual maintenance
- Be familiar with pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ) under PAS-91 & CAS
- NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate (NGC)
- NEBOSH Level 3 National Construction Certificate (NCC)
- Technical Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, working towards chartered status (evidence of CPD will be required)
- CSCS Card - Gold/Black (CITB or partner schemes)
- Asbestos Awareness (UKATA accredited)
- SMSTS - Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (preferred)
