Our client is based in Basildon and is urgently seeking a Public Sector Accountant to join a large and very busy Management Accounting Team. This is a varied and rewarding role with wide ranging Accounting duties, including:

  • Preparing and budget monitoring of all funding budgets
  • Supporting the corporate transformation agenda in particular with regard to accounting and monitoring efficiency targets as well as providing innovative professional accountancy support to a range of front-line and support services
  • Development of the Medium Term Financial Strategy
  • Development and preparation of the Financial forward forecast modelling
  • Preparation of the annual budget
  • Completion of the annual statutory final accounts in accordance with accounting practices
  • Producing regular budgetary control reports for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Provide business advice role and guidance on financial matters and support to cost centre managers
  • Maintenance of corporate financial management systems

This is a hybrid post with 3 days per week in the office.

About you: Ideally available to start at short notice. Previous Public sector Accounting experience.
