We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse processes, including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and the operation of warehouse management systems. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining safety standards, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures using the warehouse management system.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Train new staff on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
  • Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, demonstrating best practices for materials handling.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth shipping and receiving processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed (up to 25 kg).
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory levels.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team and liaise with other departments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
