This is a HEAD OF SALES role based in The Netherlands (Holland). If you speak fluent MANDARIN and ENGLISH, this is a lovely role in which you will join a growing specialist food business that sells high-end Chinese foods into the UK, Europe, and Holland. There are excellent career opportunities in this expanding sector at the moment, and this role will suit someone who is looking for their next step within food services and who has some people management experience.
In this role, you will "lead-from-the-front" and nurture and encourage your team to hit their sales targets, whilst also managing a small number of "crown jewel" clients yourself. There are Board level financial reporting elements in this role and genuine high earnings potential as well as decision-making autonomy.
Company details: This is a well-established food import/export business that specialises in importing specialist food products from China and supplies supermarkets and restaurant chains. The company has gone through a recent explosion in growth because of the increased interest in home-cooking that started during Covid. People are now experimenting with new flavours and new dishes, and this company has been able to expand strongly to accommodate increasingly sophisticated and international dishes.
In this role, you will manage a high-performing team of 15 and will also look after a portfolio of high-value customers. This role is an ideal stepping stone for someone looking to take their next step from Senior Sales into a Head of Sales position.
Duties: This is a key strategic appointment and covers 4 main duties:
- Team Management: All aspects of managing a team of 15 sales and sales admin support staff, coaching, mentoring and training staff, agreeing team performance targets, undertaking performance reviews, recruitment of new joiners.
- VIP Client Relationship Management: Management of a high-value portfolio of key "crown jewel" customer accounts/relationships, regularly checking-in with key clients to ensure that they are happy with service and product quality.
- Sales Strategy: Create and implement the company-wide strategic sales objectives for the year, undertake market and trend analysis to support strategic aims, researching prices of competitors.
- Reporting: Create board level reports on a weekly and quarterly basis.
Requirements: Fluent Mandarin and English (Cantonese and Dutch would be useful), food sector or food distribution experience is a must, experienced in team management, happy to be in The Netherlands.
