Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a qualified and HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing therapeutic provision in partnership with our Great Minds Therapy Services Offer. You will be linked to one of our on-site schools in London, whilst also supporting and elevating the wellbeing of highly vulnerable young people through specialist online therapy practice. The Great Minds Therapy Offer allows TCES to provide expert support, collaborating with TCES educational and pastoral staff, to ensure the effective delivery of therapeutic education, bespoke interventions and unique learning opportunities for neurodiverse pupils who have a range of complex needs, and who demonstrate behaviours linked to trauma. Pupils are encouraged to find and express their creativity and provided opportunities to achieve awards, alongside traditional subjects, as they move from dependence on others to independence through therapeutic interventions.. The young people in our therapeutic education services have a history of being let down by education settings, with their needs and behaviours misunderstood. Many pupils have experienced tier 3 or 4 traumas, are at high risk of aggressive or sexualised behaviour, complex offending, gang affiliation, attachment disorders, complex physical, psychological and healthcare needs. Resilient and robust, role modelling outstanding professionalism . Be a Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (with current HCPC registration) ideally with experience within paediatric or education services, mental health units or youth offending, online or o utreach provisions. Experience of delivering high quality therapeutic interventions and initiatives to support best practice with vulnerable and complex groups. Proven skills in through assessments to inform actionable recommendations and solution focussed interventions. Experience supporting and developing staff to provide appropriate support and interventions for neurodiverse young people, especially in developing skills for adulthood: social, personal. independent and leadership skills. Proactive and innovative , mentoring team members in other disciplines, whilst also with the ability to work flexibly and independently. Experience of ELKAN strategies / delivery is desirable.
