Our client is a Digital Transformation and Cyber Security Consultancy currently seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to join their dynamic team. They provide innovative digital and cybersecurity solutions to clients in both the public and private sectors, working on large-scale government and private sector projects.
Role Objective:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Interaction Designer with a successful track record in working within agile, multidisciplinary teams. The candidate should be adept at rapidly developing and iterating user-centered design concepts for complex services and transformation programs, skilled in creating prototypes using the GOV.UK toolkit, and capable of producing user journeys, wireframes, and navigation schemas.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in an agile, multidisciplinary team to develop design concepts swiftly for multiple or complex services and transformation programs.
- Create prototypes ranging from low to high fidelity using the GOV.UK prototyping toolkit.
- Develop user journey maps, sitemaps, navigation schemas, and annotated wireframes.
- Ensure accessibility and inclusion, meeting legal, security, and accessibility standards.
- Mentor junior colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Develop user-centered design standards, guidance, and lead the client\’s UCD community of practice.
- Advocate for a consistent, high-quality user experience through reusable design elements and cross-team engagement.
- Participate in user research to identify user needs, test design ideas, and develop prototypes.
- Discuss and justify design decisions based on evidence, data, and research.
Experience Required:
- Proficiency with the GOV.UK prototyping toolkit.
- Knowledge of the GOV.UK design system, service manual, and accessibility standards.
- Ability to identify constraints ensuring feasible designs that meet user needs.
- Experience creating user-centered design deliverables to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders.
- Advising teams on designing accessible solutions across various channels.
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools like Figma or Sketch.
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong consultancy skills, understanding client needs and motivations.
- Excellent collaboration skills for co-creating and solving design challenges.
