We are supporting a leading law firm based in Totnes, seeking an experienced Family Law Legal Secretary to join their friendly and supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and locate open but dormant files, take steps to close them, liaise with the responsible Fee Earner, advise on time or financial balances, and handle formal file closing and archiving.
  • Identify and update archives booked out to individual Fee Earners in the database.
  • Provide cost-effective administrative and secretarial support across all departments.
  • Handle routine client inquiries and communications where possible.
  • Manage the collation of start and completion data for matters.
  • Coordinate the key dates reminder system.
  • Participate in marketing activities at firm, departmental, or office levels.
  • Attend staff meetings as required, contributing to discussions.
  • Respond to internal work-related emails within 24 hours.
  • Familiarize with and adhere to the staff handbook, practice rules, and procedures.
