Business Overview: My client, based in Cheltenham, is a leading Software and manufacturing company, seeking a Senior Electronics Firmware Engineer to join their dynamic team. They design and manufacture products that enhance safety and have a range of innovative solutions within their industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create customised test equipment utilising electronic hardware and embedded software.
  • Design hardware and software frameworks for reuse across various test fixtures.
  • Offer support and technical guidance to New Product Development teams concerning manufacturability.
  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing personnel and engineers.
  • Ensure the maintenance of current product test equipment.
  • Generate technical documentation and assist in the development of work instructions.

Essential Technical Knowledge:

  • Designing and fabricating electronic test equipment.
  • Developing analog and digital hardware while utilising design and debugging tools.
  • Proficient in Embedded C and Python, including the use of version control, debugging tools, and peer review processes.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of electronic testing methods and fault diagnosis.
  • Collaborating effectively as a member of a product development team.
  • Experience with EMC and product safety requirements and testing is advantageous.

Educational Background: Degree in a relevant field, such as Software or Electronic Engineering.
