About the Role:

As a Social Media Strategy Director, you will be fundamental to shaping our clients' social-first presence, developing and executing stand-out strategies for some of the world’s biggest brands. Social media is at the heart of modern brand communication, and you will be at the forefront, bridging the gap between social media strategic vision and creative output. Our ideal candidate is someone who believes in enduring social ideas and is motivated to create content that can cut-through and stick in people’s minds and hearts. As a global, independent agency, VCCP goes beyond traditional creative boundaries. Our strength lies in our truly integrated offering, encompassing 14 specialist areas, including social media – which has been recognized with accolades at the Shorty Awards, UK Social Media Awards and Lovies, to name a few. At VCCP, we champion a culture of continuous challenge, both for ourselves and our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Strategic Social Vision: Develop and lead on social-first strategies, ensuring alignment with broader brand, business and communication goals.
  • Lead Platform Expertise & Innovation: Stay on top of social media platforms, identifying new opportunities, best practices, and platform-specific features to enhance our strategies. Maintain relationships with our agency-platform experts and attend industry social events to stay connected to what’s happening.
  • Social & Cultural Thought-Leadership: Actively seek out and articulate perspectives about emerging trends and cultural shifts happening on social; such as dark social, social search, social commerce. Utilise tools, reporting, and data to help prove (or disprove) the adoption of these trends for clients.
  • Client & Partner Leadership: Build close and trusted working relationships with the client teams and partner agencies (media, PR, CRM) to ensure effective execution and delivery of always-on and campaign social content.
  • Insights, Performance Measurement & Optimization: Develop data-driven, audience-centric social strategies demonstrating the business impact of content, and the 'why' behind social content. Collaborate with data and media teams to optimize platform and content performance. Use analytics to inform strategy, optimize content, and communicate results, championing social media effectiveness.
