The successful candidate will manage a complex and rewarding caseload of pre-action and litigated claims, as well as assist senior colleagues on high-profile matters. This role offers a well-resourced and collaborative working environment with clear pathways for career development and progression.
Key Responsibilities:- Running a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters from instruction to resolution
- Drafting legal documents, including claim forms, pleadings, and witness statements
- Attending case management conferences and hearings, or instructing Counsel as needed
- Liaising with medical experts, barristers, and third-party funders
- Ensuring compliance with relevant pre-action protocols and funding arrangements
- Maintaining accurate case records and supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
- Upholding the firms values and contributing to a supportive team culture
- Be a qualified Solicitor or FCILEx with experience in claimant clinical negligence work
- Have strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to manage your own caseload
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
- Be confident working independently and collaboratively
- Ideally be Law Society Clinical Negligence Accredited or an AvMA panel member (or willing to work toward this)
- Be IT proficient with experience using modern case management systems
