To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for an Engineering Shift Supervisor to come and join our team at our Supreme Concrete Factory in Sittingbourne ME10 3SL.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Safely coordinate, plan and execute effective maintenance at the Sittingbourne operation.
- Take full responsibility of the shift Engineers in terms of management of Breakdowns and PPM planning whilst maintaining smooth running of the production processes.
- Ensure all compliant checks and PPM's are carried out effectively and on time ensuring the records go to the appropriate person of responsibility.
- Safely plan and execute all maintenance corrective actions from inspections and audits within expected time frames.
- Coordinate, control and direct site shift engineers and other contractors working on site to carry out their required work in a safe and effective manner.
- Take a proactive role in achieving and where possible exceeding standards and performance in Health and Safety, Housekeeping, Financial, Quality and Customer Service and Environmental requirements of the business.
- Manage essential spares and stock parts as efficiently and effectively as required; ordering using supply lead times, cost and risk analysis to determine the spares purchased.
- Work with Site Production Manager and Site Engineering Manager and all employees to ensure all areas of the factory work together to maximize performance.
- Be Step up for Site Engineering Manager when needed.
- Have an active role in the company continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and Qualification.
- Completed an apprenticeship in Engineering (Dual Disciplined or Mechanical bias).
- Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical), Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical), Mechatronics (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- Pneumatics, hydraulics, Conveyors, Gearboxes and industrial mechanical skills.
- Welding skills would be an advantage.
- High degree of Health & Safety awareness.
- Ability to fault find, repair, and provide solutions to problems.
- Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems.
- Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication.
- Computer literate in MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice application within a manufacturing environment.

- ILM2
- IOSH Managing Safely
Experience:
- Sound Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Knowledge.
- Production Knowledge Experience.
- People Management Experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Mechanical Engineering Including Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
- Electrical Knowledge.
- Leadership.
- Problem solving tools and techniques to deliver efficiency improvements.
- Safe working practices - PTW, risk assessment etc.
