A specialist consultancy team within a global professional services firm is seeking a Consultant – Data Migration to join its Investment Management & Wealth (IM&W) practice. This team delivers end-to-end technology transformation projects across the wealth management, savings, and retirement sectors. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-year programmes where data and operations intersect to enable modernisation at scale.
As a Consultant – Data Migration, you will be responsible for supporting the successful transition of clients from legacy systems to modern wealth platforms. You will work closely with internal consultants, external clients, and third-party vendors to manage the data workstreams of large-scale transformation programmes. Your efforts will be critical to ensuring data integrity, migration accuracy, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage large datasets across the migration lifecycle, ensuring quality, integrity, and accuracy.
- Support ETL processes and prepare data for ingestion into modern wealth platforms.
- Collaborate with vendors and client stakeholders to define data mapping logic and transformation rules.
- Analyse data structures to identify gaps and propose enhancements.
- Provide technical documentation and support during the data migration lifecycle.
- Work with delivery leads and external stakeholders to support the wider implementation effort.
- Essential: 1–4 years’ experience in consulting, data migration, or transformation-related roles.
- Sound understanding of data structures within financial services, particularly wealth or pensions.
- Exposure to ETL processes, data validation techniques, and large-scale data handling.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability.
- Desirable: Familiarity with key wealth platforms (e.g., FNZ, SS&C, Avaloq, GBST).
- Experience using data migration or delivery tools such as JIRA.
- Consulting background with a focus on financial services transformation.
- Base salary up to £53,000
- Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the Edinburgh office
