Plumbing & Gas Trainer/Assessor – Full Time

Based in Cambridge

Salary: £29,770 – £34,600 per annum

If so, we’d love to hear from you! We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing & Gas Trainer/Assessor to join our team full-time. In this vital role, you'll support apprentices throughout their training journey, ensuring they gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to succeed in their careers.

About the Role:

As a Trainer/Assessor, you’ll work closely with apprentices, employers, and our teaching staff to guide learners from start to successful completion of their programmes. Your main duties will include:

  • Delivering high-quality 1:1 and small group training sessions
  • Conducting workplace and college-based assessments
  • Leading regular progress reviews with apprentices and employers
  • Coordinating and preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers

This role includes agile working – while regular college attendance and workplace visits are required, admin and planning tasks can be completed from home, with your line manager's agreement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Significant, hands-on experience in the Plumbing & Gas industry (Level 3 qualification preferred)
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, or training in a professional setting
  • Ideally, you’ll have assessing and IQA qualifications – but don’t worry if not, as training can be provided
  • Strong planning, communication, and IT skills
  • A full driving licence and use of a vehicle (business mileage reimbursed)
  • A positive, flexible attitude and a team-focused approach
  • Familiarity with Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment is a bonus, though full training will be given to the right candidate.
