This position is for a market leader in the solar industry looking to hire an ambitious CAD Drafter to work on the design of their utility-scale projects across EMEA. This position would be perfect for someone starting out in the industry, as it will work closely with their Senior CAD expert based in the UK, but slightly more experienced profiles are also welcome. Key elements: Produce detailed, accurate project drawings, site plan layouts, and CAD advanced blocks based on provided engineering specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D Produce topographical slope analyses based on provided topographical contour data using QGIS software and Civil 3D Interpret structural design information provided by engineers and develop into drawings. Coordinate and consult with engineers and others on engineering details, design assumptions and resolve design or other problems Interpret customer-provided inputs and create optimised site layouts considering boundaries, setbacks, constraints, and topography, which is a very creative process Requirements: Minimum of 1-2 years drafting design experience with AutoCAD, including repeating patterns with variation in spatial location, large data set management in AutoCAD. Further training will be provided Working knowledge of interpreting topographical contours, and performing topographical analysis using software such as Civil 3D and QGIS Working knowledge of QGIS Working knowledge in data manipulation in Microsoft Excel in conjunction with AutoCAD, especially in the area of importing/exporting and manipulating coordinates. Plus other Microsoft software Some exposure to programming in Python, Lisp, or other similar programming language Fluency in English
