Well established and leading contractor, specialising in building facades and envelopes. They operate on major projects including commercial, residential, healthcare and infrastructure. Having a strong reputation in the industry, they are known for their innovative solutions and commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
Due to continued expansion and a busy order book, they are now looking for an Apprentice Estimator to join their Commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established contractor offering excellent training and support. As part of the role you will support with the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, aiming to secure some of the UK’s most prestigious projects.
Key Duties:- Support the Senior Estimator and Bid Manager in preparing accurate design proposal drafts and understanding competitiveness in tendering.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to align on resource allocation and the company's tender strategy.
- Issue specifications and relevant tender information to cross-functional departments, including Design and Operations.
- Participate in meetings to gain insights into scheme requirements and specifications throughout the tender and project process.
- Assist in preparing subcontractor and supplier enquiries for project-specific pricing under senior guidance.
- Track bid progress and assist in addressing queries and gathering outstanding information for the Bid Manager.
- Contribute to assembling tender submissions, including risk registers and understanding the Bill of Quantities.
- Attend post-tender discussions and project handover meetings to learn about budget-tracking processes and lessons learned for future projects.
- Educated to GCSE level A to C (9-7) in Maths / English (Level 3 entry).
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (Degree apprenticeship entry).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Enthusiastic to learn and develop within the role.
- Funded Qualification: Fully funded apprenticeship (level 3 or Degree dependent on experience).
