Requirements:
The applicant must have Security Industry Authority accreditations by possessing either a:
- SIA Security Officer Licence
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- SIA CCTV Licence
Responsibilities:
As a Control Room Officer, your duties will include:
- Being the face of the Council, at the forefront of helping to deliver the wider neighbourhood agenda, by improving the services provided to customers.
- Playing an integral role in helping to make residents feel safer, drawing on local knowledge to help develop key priorities for the neighbourhoods served.
- Providing a professional and effective public CCTV/Door entry monitoring service, working closely with Mobile Patrol Officers and Night Time Security Service Supervisors to ensure safe, clean, and secure neighbourhoods across Birmingham.
- Ensuring integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all information gained is secure at all times by strict compliance with Birmingham City Council's CCTV operational procedures and code of practice.
- Operating CCTV and door entry systems of communal areas/multi-storey blocks and other properties within the neighbourhoods of Birmingham.
- Responding to enquiries from customers and directing a response team to investigate.
- Handling any issues escalated from Mobile Patrol Officers.
- Working a shift system including days/nights throughout the week, weekends, and Bank Holidays, 365 days a year.
Salary: £12.60 - £13.88 per hour + night allowance after 12-week completion period
Hours: 36 weekly hours; flexibility to work weekends and different hours is essential.
